Apollo to Use Surgical Robot

Tirupati: The Apollo hospital, Chennai, has introduced latest trends in urology by adopting surgical robot.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Sunday, urologist of Apollo hospital Dr K. Ramesh, said the robotic surgery has ten times magnification, precision and 3D vision in surgical procedures compared to the laparoscopic, endoscopic and open surgeries. This will facilitate for minimally invasive procedures in urological disorders, the robotic surgery for prostrate cancer and urological disorders would be 25 percent of the cost that would be incurred in western countries has said.
